HOW TO SHOP AT PLACESETTINGS and placing your cursor over the topic of choice, then clicking once. Or you can scroll down this page (use the scroll bar to the far right) to browse all topics. NAVIGATING: UNDERSTANDING SCREEN SIZE: If, when you are viewing our web pages, you find that you must scroll over to the right to view the entire page, fix this by checking for two things. First of all, make sure you have restored your screen to fit your entire screen. In the top right corner of your computer screen you should see three boxes. The box in the middle will either reduce your screen size or increase it to fit the entire viewing area. Make sure your window has been increased to use the entire viewing area. Some browsers, such as AOL, automatically reduce the size of your viewing area. You must always increase your screen size in AOL to eliminate scrolling right. Secondly, if increasing your screen size does not solve the problem, your screen resolution may need to be increased. Screen resolutions are assigned to your own personal computer by the manufacturer. PlaceSettings website is designed to be viewed in an 800x600 resolution. If you cannot view our web pages without scrolling to the right, your computer display is set to 640x480, which makes the fonts and images larger, but makes the page bigger at the same time.
If you don't mind scrolling, great! If you find that this is the case on most websites you visit, then you may want to consider changing your screen resolution. To do so, follow the instructions below:
Your monitor will now display all web pages in the new resolution of 800x600 and you should be able to view a complete web page on the PlaceSettings site, as well as many others without scrolling right. NAVIGATING:
MANUFACTURER MENU ON LEFT:
On the far left side of our website you will see an alphabetical listing of all the manufacturers that we carry. By placing your cursor over
a manufacturer name, and clicking once on it, you will be "selecting" that manufacturer.
When you select a manufacturer, that manufacturers page will appear to the right. The main manufacturer page contains no product, but is instead for the purpose of introducing you to that particular manufacturer.
On the manufacturer's page you will see a drop-down box. The drop-down box serves to give you access to
the patterns available from that manufacturer. The drop-down box is the same as the product list that appears to the left (see next step).
PATTERN MENU ON LEFT:
Once you've selected a manufacturer page, you will see that the menu on the left side of our website changes. All the patterns available for that manufacturer you selected, will now be listed under the manufacturers name, in alphabetical order. The list may be long, in some cases, and you may need to scroll down. To scroll down either the left menu, or the main page, use the scroll bar on the far right of your screen.
To select a Pattern, move your cursor over the pattern name on the menu at the far left of the website. Click once.
PATTERN PAGE:
Once you've selected a Pattern, that pattern web page will appear in the right part of your screen. The top of that page will include the pattern/manufacturer name, an image, if available, and any other information relative to that particular pattern.
Directly below the above data will be
all items available for this pattern. You will be given the
name of the item, retail price, and purchase price.
GIFT WRAPPING
- Gift wrapping is available and must be ordered, per piece. On the page where you see the pattern pieces listed, you will also see a
check box beside the question "Add Giftwrap?". By clicking once in the box provided, (you will see a small black check mark appear) you will be telling PlaceSettings that you would like to have that particular piece wrapped, and you agree to pay the additional
$7.00 per piece for
gift wrapping. This gift wrapping charge will be added to your total upon checkout.
QUANTITY-
Under the gift wrapping option, you will find a box to enter the quantity you
would like to order of that particular piece.
ADD TO
BASKET - To purchase a pattern piece, go to the line where that piece is listed and "check" giftwrapping, if applicable,
quantity you would like to purchase and then place your cursor over the "add to
basket" button and click once. The screen will refresh itself and return you to your original place of shopping. The item you "added" is now in your shopping cart and will be included in your final order.
You can view you shopping cart at any time by clicking on the View Cart Button
in the Blue horizontal bar at the top of each page VIEW
CART
- TO VIEW WHAT YOU'VE
PURCHASED - If you wish to, at any time, see what you've already added into your basket, or shopping cart, go to the top of the website where it says
"VIEW CART". Click once on this and a web page will be displayed that will list all the items you've placed in your cart for purchase.
TO CHANGE QUANTITIES
-
There are 2 ways in which to order more than 1 or modify product quantities: 1) To do so prior to adding a product to your shopping cart,
enter the quantity wanted under the item your are purchasing and click the
"add to basket" button. 2) To change the quantity AFTER you have placed something in your shopping cart, go to the top of any
web page on our site and click once on the "View Cart" button. There you will see those products you have already "added to
basket". Beside each one is a "quantity" box. Change the number accordingly. THEN PRESS UPDATE.
NOTE:
You are not able to change quantities once you proceed to "Checkout". However, you can access the
"View Cart" page from the checkout screen.
TO CHECKOUT
- Once you've added all the items you wish to purchase into your shopping
cart and reviewed our policies page, you can checkout by going to the top of any
web page and clicking once on the "Checkout" button.
There are 3 steps involved in Checkout.
1) You will be prompted to enter your Customer Login, or you can search for it, if you have purchased from us in the past. If this is your first purchase, you will need to fill in all the information below for Bill To and Ship To.
Under the ship to information, please select whether you will be shipping the
item to North Carolina. Any items shipped to North Carolina will have
sales tax added. If you want your account updated with any new information, make
sure the "Update Your Customer Information" box is checked. It is important that you provide all the information, accurately. Once completed, press the "Continue" button at bottom of the screen. 2)
On the next page you will see your shipping cost and give payment
information. At this time we only offer UPS ground shipping online.
If you would like express shipping, please contact PlaceSettings by email at service@placesettings.com.
You will be contacted with the shipping price info. We offer Visa, Mastercard and Discover as forms of payment. To make your selection, place your cursor on the "down arrow" in the blue box and click your mouse once. Then move your mouse so that the payment method you want to select is highlighted. Press "Continue" on the far right bottom of the screen.
3) On the next page you will give your credit card information and click
"Continue". 4) You should now be taken to your final invoice
screen that will show your order number. Print this page for your records.
CONTACT PLACESETTINGS
- The most effective way to contact PlaceSettings is via email. Due to the large volumes of orders and inquiries we receive daily, we kindly ask you to first contact us via email.
Most e-mails are answered within 24 hours except on Holidays and
weekends. To do so, go to the top of any of our web pages, on the far
right. There you will see "E-mail". Place your cursor over those words and click once.
Your e-mail software will be opened with our e-mail address in the
"To" box. If this doesn't work correctly on your computer,

NAVIGATING WEB PAGES
- To return, or go back to a previous page, you can use your "back" button on your
browser.
If you wish to return to PlaceSettings main shopping page, use the button on the
blue horizontal bar labeled "Home
Page".
SPECIALS
- PlaceSettings offers great specials periodically on
merchandise. Please be sure to read the "details" of those specials carefully, as they will be honored, only as they are listed.
To visit our Specials Page, go to the top right of any of our
web pages and place your cursor over "Specials" and click once. The Specials page will then appear
on your screen, describing all the products on special. At times, the list may be longer than your screen. You can use the scroll bar at the far right of your computer screen to scroll down to view all the specials available.
Many times there are more than one page of specials. At the top and bottom
of each "specials" page, the additional page numbers will be
underlined. Click the page number you would like to view and the page will
appear on your screen.
CLEARANCE
- PlaceSettings offers great clearance specials on
select merchandise.
To visit our Clearance Page, go to the top right of any of our
web pages and place your cursor over "Clearance" and click once. The
Clearance page will then appear
on your screen, describing all the products on special. At times, the list may be longer than your screen. You can use the scroll bar at the far right of your computer screen to scroll down to view all the
clearance items available.
Many times there are more than one page of clearance items. At the top and bottom
of each "Clearance" page, the additional page numbers will be
underlined. Click the page number you would like to view and the page will
appear on your screen.
POLICIES AND DISCLOSURES
- If you have any questions regarding PlaceSettings pricing, shipping, content, returns, special orders, etc.,
please visit this section. At the top of all our web
pages place your cursor over the "Policies/Disclosures" and click once.
LINKS
- For listings of manufacturers and consumer organizations, you can go to the top
right of any of our web pages and place your cursor over "links" and click once.
LOGIN AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
- If you have purchased from PlaceSettings before,
you were asked to create a user name and password. If you have forgotten
your user name, under the login boxes find the section asking if your have
Forgotten your Login. Enter your e-mail address in the box provided click
the login lookup button and your user name will appear in the username box
above. If you have forgotten your password enter your username in the
login in box and click the the circle beside "email me my
password". At that time, PlaceSettings will automatically e-mail your
password to the e-mail address we have on file from your account.
NOTE: Even if you are a previous PlaceSettings customer, but have not yet placed an order on our new website, you will not have a
username or password. Place an order on the new site creating your account and you will
then be able to use your username and password for every
other purchase.
